Why did the chicken cross the road? To run away from the bullying Rahm Emanuel and other liberal politicians who tried to push their pro-gay marriage stance down its throat. Due to Chick-fil-A’s recent comments defending the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman, liberal leaders have unleashed a torrent of criticism on the fast food chain. In these attacks, however, they fail to address statistics that show traditional marriage leads to healthier homes.
When Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy defended the traditional meaning of marriage, left-wing leaders such as Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino were ready to pounce. Cathy’s sin, according to these politicians, was stating that he believes in “the biblical definition of the family unit.” A definition that includes one mother and one father.
To punish Cathy and his business, Emanuel and Menino have threatened to prevent Chick-fil-A from operating in their cities. This makes me wonder…don’t these politicians have more to worry about than keeping residents from their chicken dinners? Considering the record-breaking crime rates in Chicago, Emanuel should have plenty to occupy his time than ruffling a few restaurant feathers.
I wonder if these politicians have seen the statistics that correlate with children who grow up in traditional versus non-traditional homes. For instance, consider this statistic from fatherhood.org:
“A study of 1330 children from the PSID showed that fathers who are involved on a personal level with their child schooling increases the likelihood of their child's achievement. When fathers assume a positive role in their child's education, students feel a positive impact.”
Other alarming statistics state that fatherless children are twice as likely to drop out of school andfive times more likely to be poor. These negative consequences can be seen in mother-absent homes as well, for statistics proveas well, for statistics prove that families with two biological parents are healthier overall.
These liberals' overdramatic reactions appear even more ridiculous when compared to some conservatives' treatment of pro-gay companies. Take into account General Mills and Kellogg’s, both of which are pro-gay organizations.Ken Charles, General Mills’ vice president for global diversity and inclusion, wrote a letter explaining the company’s pro-homosexual stance.
"We do not believe the proposed constitutional amendment is in the best interests of our employees or our state economy," Charles wrote. "We value diversity. We value inclusion."
The Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo, Starbucks, Dr. Pepper, Snapple, and Budweiser also have pro-gay policies. But, you don’t see anti-gay leaders and activists as loudly boycotting these goods. Seems a bit childish doesn’t it? Even for spoiled politicians...
By left wingers own standards, shouldn’t they be avoiding fast food anyway? It won't be long until Mayor Bloomberg bans chicken sandwiches and fries altogether for what he thinks is the health of his constituents, but he fails to take into account that he's not just taking away calories and grease - he's taking away their freedoms.
But, the Chick-fil-A story is more than creating a nanny state like Bloomberg in the false pretense of creating a healthier environment, it is a way for liberal leaders like Emanuel and Menino to force others to accept their policy of making non-traditional families the new normal.
Hopefully, these liberals will learn to eat their words. Oh well, more chicken for us.

The Chick-fil-A controversy (which shouldn’t be a controversy at all), proves that many liberals only approve of free speech when it matches their ideology. If the restaurant had come out and announced its support for LGBT rights, Emanuel and Menino would have been the first ones in line for an Original Chicken Sandwich.

These companies produce cereals such as Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Special K. Considering Cinnamon Toast Crunch is one of my favorite cereals and I like the health factor of Special K, it’s not likely I’m going to refuse to eat them anytime soon. Kellogg’s also makes Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Froot Loops and Pop-Tarts. These cereals were part of my childhood, and I love frozen cookie dough pop-tarts just as much as the next person, so why would I refuse to ever eat them again?
