Where’s My Fox News??

This morning I turned on my TV in my dorm room, expecting to see the latest stories on Fox News, my usual routine. Instead, I saw Allegheny’s student station flashing pictures of the campus across the screen. CNN was untouched.

Did Allegheny really get rid of Fox News??This is so unfair! I can’t wait to write a story about this and expose this school’s liberal bias! I refreshed the station a few times to make sure it was really replaced by campus announcements. Livid, I looked up Allegheny’s TV and Computing Services number, ready to ask where my fair and balanced news program was and preparing to write an article about the unfair switch. But, right before I was about to dial the number, I noticed a link that said a few channels had changed as of January 31. Fox News had changed from 63 to 24.

Although I am relieved I still have my Fox News here on campus, I couldn’t help being a little disappointed that I lost an opportunity to expose liberal bias. This made me smile, because I was thinking like a journalist, immediately thinking that the supposed switch could be turned into an investigative story. It also makes me proud to consider that I was so ready to stand up for my conservative ideology and demand an explanation that one of the most balanced news programs was taken off of the Allegheny airwaves.

So, I was wrong this time, but I know there will be more opportunities for me to expose liberal bias in this country. For now, I’ll enjoy my Fox and Friends.
